Am. Sub. 487 was enacted in 2012 to establish a legislative committee on public health futures, charged with reviewing the Association of Ohio Health Commissioners’ “Public Health Futures” report and developing recommendations for legislative and fiscal policies that would improve local public health services in Ohio. The report below contains those recommendations.

House Bill 3100, enacted in 2015, established the foundational public health services and required metrics.

In 2017 Oregon’s legislature allocated $5 million to Oregon health Authority for public health modernization. This is an ongoing General Fund investment. In 2019 the Legislature allocated an additional $10 million in ongoing General Funds.
